완벽한 회색을 향해

회색은 검정색과 흰색의 중간 색이다. 이 두 색의 정 가운데에 위치한 완벽한 회색은 존재 가능한 것일까.

어쩌면 도달 불가능한 '완벽한 회색' 을 설정하고 이를 찾아 나선다. 한점 한점의 회색을 그려 나간다. 보이지 않는 곳을 향해 나가는 과정은 마치 목적지 없는 사막을 걸어가는 것과 같다. 이내 완벽한 회색을 찾는 것의 목적은 이를 찾아가는 과정에 있음을 느낀다. 이 작업은 그리기 과정에 대한 추상적 표현이다.

Toward perfect grey

​

Gray is a color located in the middle of black and white. I have questioned that it is possible to have a perfect gray in the middle of these two colors. I set 'Perfect gray' that might be unreachable to find it. I trace the gray one by one toward this invisible ideal point. As if balancing the left and right sides on a tightrope, I look for the gray. I soon feel that the purpose of finding the perfect gray is in the process of finding it. This work is an abstract expression of the process and the way I paint.
